I was recommended to use Third Eye Travel by a friend who had just returned from a trip to India, and was very happy with their service and their suggestions. They pulled together a custom trip for us in Northern India in two weeks, and were extremely accommodating of changes that we asked to be made. I would definitely use them again. It was worth asking for specific things that we wanted -- in our case, historic hotels, and not too much driving between destinations, (we flew instead.) I asked for a safe car and excellent driver in each city, and that put me very much at ease. They work with a local company in India and communication with both groups was excellent. One caution is that the original tour they proposed was much too ambitious -- it is better to immerse yourself in fewer places rather than try to see it all. Going between cities is exhausting and takes a full day no matter what. But definitely use this tour company rather than arranging things yourself! It costs a little more but in the grand scheme of a trip to India, it is the best money you can spend.
