Hey Arun. We are again in your debt. This trip through Nepal and Bali was simply fantastic. And I am writing for Karan, myself, and David and Marinda Diesslin who is on the board of Virtuosity Travel.
Beginning at the Kathmandu Guest House, moving on to the Tibetan International Hotel everything was just super. We changed rooms without any hassle at the KGH to get a better view which was fine as they had plenty of room. Then the Tibetan Guest House was a step up in facilities although they were undergoing a large amount of loud repair on the floor above us.
Nevertheless, both places and all pick up and deliveries were just perfect. Again, everything was just perfect. The food at both places was economical and great to eat but perhaps the highlight of the Nepal trip was Mingmar, our Kathmandu guide. He was one of the kindest men we’ve ever met and enormously hospitable. He provided us all with T Shirts and was personally available for any questions or transportation. His son helped out driving, too, and was great also in English and very polite. Moving on to Pokarah we stayed at the Fish Tail Lodge which also was tremendous. Among the four of us we got perhaps a dozen or more massages at this place plus the KGH and the Tibetan Guest House. All were tremendous.
And finally our trip to Bali was also outstanding. We were pampered at both the Ubud Kayon hotel where flowers adorned every pathway and sculpture and the food was the best we’d ever had. Our final relaxing place (just for Karan and I) at the beach in Bali at the Grand Mirage was perfect for lounging and reflection. We saw several shows in the evening, Karan had a water massage, and I basically just relaxed.
Thanks for helping us coordinate a final shopping purchase or two between Ubud and the Mirage Hotel which made without incident in our luggage. Our contact person in Bali, Sanjay, was great in English and aided us tremendously in buying wood sculpture (two nice yard high carvings) and aided us in potentially getting a custom made chess table as well. He and our driver were just wonderful!!!
