TOURS TO BHUTAN – discover the “Last Shangri-la”

Tours to Bhutan offers the ultimate in outdoor adventure, an opportunity to
experience the unique Buddhist culture in this Himalayan region. It is perhaps
the last place on earth that has withstood the far reaching outside influences
by maintaining a delicate balance of its natural environment, its ancient
customs and culture with the modern-day world. Travel to Bhutan will give you
an experience of a pure and exotic land, with its ancient fortresses,
monasteries, that dot the countryside. It is indeed the last remaining
Shangri-la. The best time to travel to Bhutan is in spring from October to May,
with rhododendrons, magnolias and other spring flowers are in full bloom.

TOUR TO TIBET – “An experience of a lifetime”

TIBET the “Roof of the World” was the mystical land jealously guarded and
isolated from the rest of the world for centuries. Tibet tour today is
considerably easier, but the sense of adventure still remains. Tour to Tibet
has become very popular due to improved infrastructure and ease of
restrictions. Travelers will find Lhasa tours one of the most remarkable adventures.
Religion has inspired centuries of extraordinary art, and architecture serving
as the cornerstone of its unique culture still practiced in the ancient ways.
more than just the beautiful scenery, but an opportunity to be immersed in the
true essence of nature. Nowhere will you encounter a greater diversity of
people and culture more varied than in Nepal. Touring Nepal in the outlying
regions provides the best way to see the country and meet the people whose
lives have remained unchanged for centuries. Those who visit for the first time
are totally blown away beyond all expectations by the awe inspiring grandeur of
the Mountains. Adventure travelers from all over the world have for many years
enjoyed the splendor. Best time to travel to Nepal is from October to May, when

India is the most extraordinary country in the world. Nowhere on earth will
you encounter greater diversity of people with culture and tradition that
existed for thousands of years. It’s a subcontinent by itself with terrain
extending from the snow capped Himalayan range the north to the dense tropical
forest in the south. It’s a place where religions influence the way of life,
mass assimilation of the ancient and modern, rich and poor with great extremes
coexisting in harmony. India will amaze you, and an experience that you will
never forget.

THIRD EYE TRAVEL – “More than meets the Eye”

We are happy to announce the launch of our new blog page devoted to all interesting topics related to travel, and information that will enhance your travel experience. We welcome your comments and feedback.

SEIZE THE MOMENT

Technology has made our lives productive and convenient but we often take it for granted; only realizing how difficult it is to cope without. Likewise it is so easy to take time for granted and drift along without realizing the passage of precious moments. So seize the moment and make the most your time. How often have you dreamed about venturing out to exotic locations? Now is the perfect time to put together your “Bucket List” of the places you wish to go. Travel enriches our lives and broadens our horizon. Going to distant places and experiencing different cultures give us new perspective in life.

SHANGRI-LA IS IT FOR REAL?

In the novel Lost Horizon, written by British author James Hilton “Shangri-la” was a paradise hidden in a mystical Himalayan valley where the inhabitants were near immortals living life in blissful peace and harmony. The name Shangri-la is roughly translated from Tibetan meaning the “Shang Mountain Pass”. Today, many places in the Himalayan region claim the title mainly to promote tourism; Bhutan calls itself the “Last Shangri-la” and Nepal considers “Shangri-la” as its very own. In 2001 the Chinese authorities renamed Gyalthang (Zhongdian) as Shangri-La, the Tibetan prefecture in northwestern Yunnan province, thus claiming the bragging right for the real Shangri-la in the world.

EXTREME ADVENTURE IN THE HIMALAYA

There is perhaps no place on earth quite like the Himalayas for Extreme Adventure Experience. The Himalayas of Nepal, Tibet, Bhutan and India are not only famous for the highest mountains but also home to an impressive array of adrenaline charging rivers, gentle streams and dense tropical forest teeming with wildlife. Go off the beaten path and venture where only few have dared. Take the challenging Everest Base Camp Trekking to the highest peak in the world; conquer the rugged terrain in Tibet on mountain bike, or bungee jump off the longest free fall in the world. The thrill of extreme adventure awaits you! Imagine the exciting adventure tales you can bring back and narrate to your envious friends.

Welcome to our premier Third Eye Travel blog

Posted by Dorji Lama

I often wonder how the advancement in technology has made our lives so convenient. Yet we take them for granted, only missing them in their absence, and realize how difficult it is to cope without. Likewise it is so easy to drift along without realizing the passage time, thinking we have ample of. So we need to seize the moment and make the most of our time. Travel enriches our lives and broadens our horizon. Visiting far off places and experiencing different cultures give us new perspective in life.

Mega Familiarization Trip to Thailand

In July 2010, I was fortunate to be one of the few travel agents invited to participant in an all expense paid Mega Familiarization Trip to Thailand. Tourist Authority of Thailand with Thai Airways hosted the event in an effort to boost tourism in response to the declining number of tourist caused by the political turmoil. Despite the political unrest a sense of national pride prevailed and the country pulled together remarkably and is thriving well. Thailand is indeed a Mega destination for all class of tourists and the country is well prepared to cater to all their predilections.

Boutique Wellness SPA hotels seem to be all the rage in all the major tourist destinations, drawing in new type of travelers looking to rejuvenate the mind and body.THE BARAI at Hyatt Regency in Hua Hin bestows luxury spa treatment to the ultimate level. Inspired and designed by the renowned Thai architect Mr. Lek Bunnag, THE BARAI offers a journey of the mind, body and spirit for inner peace and tranquility through selective treatment based the four healing elements, WATER, EARTH, AIR and FIRE.

No matter how often you visit a place each trip gives you new experiences and revelations. To truly appreciate and absorb the culture, one must jaunt off the beaten path where the locals go about their daily routine. The experience will emphatically give you a new perspective of the people and their customs. On one of these excursions in Bangkok, I came across a hilarious sighting while riding in a Tuk-Tuk (local three wheeler taxi). You will find it amusing, but at the same time it demonstrates how the local denizens deal with unruly passengers. The pictures tell the story.

Closing on a humorous note here is a list of puns I came across which I hope will tickle you funny bones.

Those who jump off a bridge in Paris are in Seine.

Practice safe eating – always use condiments.

Reading while sun bathing makes you well red.

Seating on a glass table top can cause you a pane in the ass.

I will post the next installment on our China trip which we plan to take early September.
