To the travelers seeking adventure, Mongolia is unequalled among the most sought after exotic destination, and conjures up the imagination of the great Mongol empire. The land of the nomads with the eternal blue sky hanging over the endless pastoral steppes has managed to preserve the ancient customs, traditions and ancestral lifestyles, which to this days have remained unchanged. The nomads are steeped in tradition and have a great love of the open spaces. They exhibit great tolerance of others and profound reverence for nature. Travelers who can overcome and look beyond the minor language difficulties, ascetic amenities and road conditions, will find themselves richly rewarded by the beauty of the landscape, the hospitality of people and the experience of being in unity with nature.
Our trip coincides with the Naadam Festival, which is one of the most exciting and colorful celebrations and is held throughout Mongolia. The festival marks the occasion of the 1912 Mongolian revolution and the highlights of the festivities are the fierce horseracing, archery and wrestling competitions. We spend 8 days in Mongolia visiting the capital city Ulaanbaatar, participate in the festival and visit the remote areas of Bayangobi, Erdene Zuu Monastery and the Terelz National Park.
