Laos is a small country dominated by mountains, rivers and plateaus covering approximately 70 percent of its 236,800 Square kilometers of area. Considered as one of the lowest populated areas in Souheast Asia with 68 sub-ethnic groups mainly among three major minority groups. There is a definitive allure about Laos despite a lack of tourist facilities in some areas. The country makes up for its shortfall in many other ways such as its natural beauty, fascinating Buddhist culture, unique archeological attractions and its friendly people.
