The Yangtze River reaches are one of the cradles of the Chinese civilization. Places along both sides of the river are homes to hundreds and thousands of relics and ancient architectures. More than 300 million people with 2,700 hectares of cultivated land lie along the River. Starting from White King Town in Fengjie county, Sichuan Province to Nanjin Pass in Yichang, Hubei Province, the 125 miles section of the Yangtze rushes through the mountains between the Sichuan and Hubei Province, forming the world renowned three gorges: Qutang Gorge, Wuxia Gorge and Xiling Gorge. The three gorges are attractive for the grandeur, the precipice, wonderfulness and the secluded ness of their views.
