Day 1 Arrive in Colombo and transfer to Sigiriya
You will be picked up at the airport, and transferred to your hotel on Sigiriya.
En route, visit Dambulla Cave Temples. Dambulla Cave Temple (also known as the Golden Temple of Dambulla) is a World Heritage Site (1991) in Sri Lanka situated in the central part of the country. This site is situated 148 km east of Colombo and 72 km north of Kandy. It is the largest and best preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka. There are more than 80 documented Caves in the surrounding area. These paintings and statues are related to Lord Buddha and his life. Evening visit Sigiriya Rock, Sigiriya – is a “UNESCO World Heritage Site” and the 5th Century “Fortress in the Sky” which is perhaps the most fantastic single wonder of the Island. It is also known as Lion Rock because of the huge lion that used to stand at the entrance to the Palace on the summit of the 600-foot high rock. On its summit are the foundations of the Royal Palace, Water Tanks to supply water and all other buildings and at the edges the guardhouses. On one of the stairways the only known ancient work of Sinhala secular painting survived in the form of Frescoes of 21 life sized damsels still shining in their original colours.

Day 2 Excursion to Polonnaruwa
After an early breakfast from the hotel visit Polonnaruwa Ancient city, Pollonnaruwa - The Capital of Sri Lanka from 11th -13th Century contains some splendid and spectacular statues. Lankatileke, Tivanka and Thuparama are the most beautiful and largest shrine ruins and Tivanka has the best example of frescoes of the Polonnaruwa period. Rankot Vihara and Kiriwehera are well preserved large stupas, and Gal Vihare - a rock shrine, has four Buddha statues, two seated, one standing and one reclining and Parakrama Bahu statue are examples of Sinhalese stone carver.

Day 3 Excursion to Anuradhapura
After breakfast visit Anuradhapura ancient city Anuradhapura - The capital of Sri Lanka from the 05th Century B.C. to the end of the 10th Century A.D. was the most celebrated of Sri Lanka’s ancient ruined cities. The city’s greatest treasures are its dagobas constructed of bricks and hemispherical in shape. The most notable of these dagobas are the Ruvanveliseya which dates back to the 2nd Century B.C. and is 300 feet in diameter, the Jetawanarama is 370 feet and the Thuparama Dagoba enshrines the collarbone of the Buddha.

Day 4 Excursion to Minneriya National Park
After breakfast enjoy a 4X4 Jeep Safari in the Minneriya National Park Transfer back to hotel, en route enjoy an Elephant Back Ride in Habarana Elephant Ride - The feeling of stepping back in time, a time when kings rode on the backs of these magnificent mammals, and the chance for you dear visitors to do the same is what we at The Other corner offer. Directly off the balcony of the main lodge onto the backs of these gentle giants, the tour will take you along the forest trail, across the river, through the village and back to your lodging all on the elephant back ride.
