This is the classic trip to Peru, if you only have one week to visit then this is the program for you. In six days you will see the historic and cultural sites of Cusco and the Sacred Valley, ending your trip at the majestic Machu Picchu citadel.

Day 1 LIMA/CUSCO
Early transfer to the airport to board your plane for the 55 minute flight to Cusco, center of the Inca Empire. On your arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Rest of the day free to relax and slowly acclimatize.
Day 2 CUSCO SIGHTSEEING
In the afternoon, a combined city and nearby ruins tour will educate you on the history of this astonishing town, while visiting its Inca and Colonial monuments. Meals on your own.
Day 3 CUSCO/SACRED VALLEY
Full day excursion to visit the main sites in the Sacred Valley of the Incas with guided tours of the archaeological remains. Lunch on route, and overnight at a local hotel, dinner on your own. Depending on hotel availability additional activities can be organized from some of the country inns.
Day 4 SACRED VALLEY/MACHU PICCHU
Early transfer from your hotel to the train station in the Sacred Valley, for your two hour ride down the Urubamba gorge as it changes from mountain vegetation to cloud forest, arrival at the station of Machu Picchu Pueblo. A bus ride will bring you to the citadel for a full day guided visit, with lunch included and afternoon return to the village where we will spend the night at a local hotel, dinner on your own. (Luxury hotel option available).
Day 5 MACHU PICCHU/CUSCO
Early rise for those who want an optional visit to the ruins. The other option is to stay around the village and undertake shopping, relax in your hotel room or take a walk in the surrounding cloud-forest. Lunch on your own. Afternoon train return to Cusco, where we will arrive in the evening. Transfer to your hotel, dinner on your own.
Day 6 CUSCO/LIMA
Transfer to the airport for your flight to Lima - or any other connecting destination - where assistance will be provided.
