Gaumukh literally means cow's mouth in Hindi. It is the source of the most sacred river in the Hindu religion which is located in the Gangotri glacier in Garhwal Himalaya. This is considered as the holiest places for Hindu pilgrims who come here to witness the birth of Mother Ganga. The trek takes you to Gomukh , the mythological source of the River Ganges, which is at the snout of the Gangotri glacier. Tapovan is an ideal location to look for the peace and adventure which offers stunning views of Bhagirathi peaks from Tapovan Meadow.
